Friday night we decided to try out Bakersfield. We had heard great things about it and decided it was time to give it a shot. They are known for tacos, tequila, and whiskey so what’s not to love?!
Reservations?– We weren’t able to make reservations. We got there around 8:30 and it was an hour and a half wait. The place was packed so there wasn’t even room to get drinks at the bar.
Atmosphere?– This is a trendy little spot. It’s located right off Broadway so it was a fun night of doing something different than the typical honky tonks.
Service?– Our waitress was friendly and made some good suggestions for us.
Parking?– It is located downtown so there is not parking but they usually have valet. They didn’t have it that night for some reason so we ended up paying $25 to park in a lot nearby. Disappointed by this.
Food?– If you are ordering tacos, get more than 1. They are fairly small. Most people order 2-3 depending on how hungry you are.
Drinks?– Go for the spicy margaritas! We ordered a pitcher because we knew we would each be having more than 1. It was more cost-effective and the responsible thing to do… I think? At least that’s what I’m telling myself. 😉 The tequila and whiskey menu is a bit overwhelming if you know nothing about them. Just stick to the spicy margarita. You won’t be disappointed!
Overall?– I’d go back for the spicy margarita alone. I give it a 4/5 due to no valet this night and not being able to make reservations.
